About Erica Bowman,
   L.Ac.,M.S.TCM, CMT

Erica was born and raised in Napa, California and finds herself always returning to her home. She attended Humboldt State University where she created her own major Holistic Wellness, knowing at that time, that her path was in the healing arts. While in college she worked the front desk for an acupuncturist and attended Loving Hands Institute of Healing Arts, where she was trained in massage therapy. “Practicing massage was something I knew I wanted to do from the time I was in high school and read Alice Walker’s book, Temple of My Familiar.
After graduating from Humbolt State, Erica traveled for a year in Asia and then settled back in her hometown. When her dog Moe Joe, was diagnosed with bone cancer, Erica was lead, at the suggestion of a friend, into the care of Kamala Dietz for dog acupuncture. This began Erica's journey of further education in acupuncture. In 2005, Erica began school at The Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences (ACCHS) in Oakland, CA. During her years at ACCHS, Erica spent a month in China and also began studying Chi Nei Tsang (abdominal massage) with a local practitioner, Tiffiny Fyans.

In 2009, Erica graduated from the Academy and became a licensed acupuncturist in the state of California. At that time she started her practice and began sharing an office in St. Helena with Kamala Dietz. Erica is always expanding her knowledge and has studied Chinese herbs and classical medicinal formulas extensively with Arnaud Versluys, PhD, LAc, MD (China), before and since her graduation from ACCHS. She has a strong trust in, commitment to and respect for the teachings she has received. Ultimately Erica believes in always treating from her heart.
