Chi Nei Tsang

Chi Nei Tsang is an abdominal massage; which has its roots in Taoism. Taoism and Buddhism blossomed as spiritual paths alongside one another in China. Chi Nei Tsang contains aspects of the current Chinese Medical system; it is based on the 5 phases of Chi and the organs, sounds, colors and emotions associated with the phases. Massaging the abdomen gets to the root of many illnesses.

Pathology may begin in the trunk of the body, if nutrition is poor, emotions fluctuate too much, or any part of a lifestyle moves outside the realm of living with the seasons and in accordance with nature. Even surface events such as colds and flu may, when untreated move into the interior and begin to change normal physiological functioning. Pain in the extremities, including the neck and head, can often be traced back to a holding pattern in the abdomen.
Any part of the 5-phase model may be used as guided imagery with the massage as well as a deep focus on breath. When breath is invited into any area that is stuck, blood, oxygen and life are allowed to move and change the situation. Areas which are stuck or blocked, contain stagnated energy that when moved, is eventually cleared by being digested and eliminated by the body.
